Interaction between Typhoons and Global Warming

U.S. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory(commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy) said that recent hurricanes(typhoon also) have increased the amount of rain from 5 to 10 percent because of increased temperature of Earth. If climate change is continuous, the typhoon will become more powerful than before. If the temperature increases by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius due to climate change, wind speed will increase by 25 knots (12.86 meters/s) and rainfall by one third.
Christina Patricola, who was member of this study, adressed that climate change is the main reason generating more rainfall and faster winds. Accordingly, typhoons are expected to show greater destructive power.
James Elsner, an atmospheric researcher at Florida State University said, "The increase in rainfall by 5 to 10 percent means a drastic change. We already know that the typhoon has become more powerful due to climate change."
Recently, a study found that the pace of development of typhoons has also have been rapid, due to climate change. Compare to 30 years ago, the development of typhoons has been much faster. Some scholars warn that a sixth-class hurricane, which has been only conceptually present which is so disastrous, could also become a reality.
