Bolaven&Denvin
From now on, we will do a case study on Typhoon Bolaven and Typhoon Tenvin which affected it.
Let me just briefly tell you about Denvin and Bolaven. Denver and Bolaven were created by typhoons at almost the same time on August 20, 2012, but Denver survived longer. Bolaven, in particular, is a huge typhoon.
Denvin and Bolaven typhoons occured from low pressure on August 20. As you can see from the weather, the ballaven is still in shape. At this time, typhoons developed as the principle that hot, humid air is caused by strong rising air currents. And it is expected that there will be high pressure around and low pressure will be centered.
Typhoons develop northward to high latitudes after they occur. However, it is expected that the North will move Bolaven northward under the influence of the North Pacific airbase and other factors in the summer and turn right on the Korean Peninsula
Examples of Fujiwhara
'Ma-on' & 'Tokage'
The first example of fujiwhara effect is shown at ‘Ma-on’ and ‘Tokage’. First, Ma-on was located at sea near the northeast of Guam on the 2011 July 13 at 9 p.m, it’s central air pressure was 100 hpa. And at 3 a.m. on July 14, the central air pressure dropped to 970 hPa, making it a strong medium-sized typhoon. Since then, the force has been somewhat delayed as the 7th typhoon, ‘Tokage’, absorbed the ‘Tokage’ with the Fujiwhara effect. At 9 p.m. on Saturday, the central pressure dropped to 936 hPa, making the typhoon the peak. And ‘Tokage’ was asorbed by the ‘Ma-on’, it disappeared at July 16. It’s example of the first type Fujiwhara effect which is, A type of rapid weakening due to the loss of power to a strong tropical depression nearby.
'Mitag' & 'Hagibis'
The following examples are the ‘Mitag’ and ‘Hagibis’. The 23rd typhoon, ‘Mitag’, broke out at 9 p.m. on November 20, 2007, near 900 kilometers west of Guam Island. The 24th typhoon,’Hagibis’, occurred at 3 a.m. on November 21, 2007, about 690 kilometers southwest of Manila in the Philippines. ‘Mitag’ continued it’s march, and as it stayed in the waters east of Manila in the Philippines, it’s influenced weakened, and ‘Hagibis’ continued to go northwest and then stayed at sea, losing power. Meanwhile, the distance between ‘Mitag’ and ‘Hagibis’ reached within 1,000 kilometers, resulting in the Fujiwhara effect. This effect resulted in the ‘Mitag’ moving westward, and the original eastward movement of ‘Hagibis’ turned east. As it shown at the example, fujiwhara effect can change not only the velocity of typhoon, but also it’s movement.
Denvin and Bolaven slowly get closer. If you compare the speed of the two, Bolaven is much faster. At this point, the Bolaven moves into the long ocean, carrying water vapor and growing. Because the place where the Bolaven passed is empty, the effect of denbin getting sucked and the speed of the movement of the Bolaven will be quite fast.
Tenvin broke out in the Philippines a day earlier than Bolaven, but was hovering around Taiwan due to the power of Bolaven, which occurred a day later.
Bolaven moved north to Korea. With the arrival of superpowers typhoon Bolaven, Denvin has been waiting for Bolaven to move back north in a counterclockwise turn in the waters south of Taiwan.
Bolaven turns into temperate pressure, and Denver also begins to move northward.
